As the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan reports, its armed forces destroyed a SU-25 helicopter of Armenia as it was firing at Azerbaijan army subdivisions in Jibrail.
"On October 16 and on the night of October 17, the operational situation in the Aghdara-Aghdam and Fizuli-Hadrut-Jabrayil regions of the front remained tense,'' the statement by Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry reads.
The authority reports that the Azerbaijani army stepped forward in different directions.
"As a result of the actions taken by the Azerbaijan Army during the day, a large number of manpower, 7 T-72 tanks, 2 BM-21 Grad MLRS, 8 D-30, and 1 D-20 howitzer were destroyed and disabled in different directions of the front -cannons, ten units of trucks with ammunition and seven units of other vehicles,'' the statement reads.
"As a result of the combat activities, the 1st battalion of the 5th mountain rifle regiment of the Armenian armed forces, leaving its positions and a large number of killed and wounded, retreated,'' reads the statement.
"Up to 300 reservists left their combat positions on the defensive line,'' the ministry adds.
