Belarus has new PM

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko appointed Roman Golovchenko as Prime Minister of the country.

Before that, he was chairperson of the Belarusian Military-Industrial Committee.

Golovachenko will replace Syarhey Rumas, who headed the Council of Ministers since 2018.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko dismissed the government on June 3.

In late May, the country's leader announced that he was going to form a new government before the presidential election.

Presidential elections will take place on August 9 in Belarus.
