China to launch the first female astronaut into space

Wang Yaping will be the first woman to fly into space from China. The ship is scheduled to depart on Saturday morning.

Along with Wang Yaping, the board will include 55-year-old Zhai Zhigang and 41-year-old Ye Guangfu, whose mission will be to bring equipment to the new space station. China aims to have a space station called Heavenly Palace fully staffed by 2022.

Wang Yaping and her group will spend six days in space.
