During a visit to the Drôme department, the man slapped French President Emmanuel Macron, Reuters reports.
Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
Emmanuel Macron shook hands with people who had gathered to greet the French president. He greeted one of the men who slapped Macron.
After that, the members of the guard got involved. Macron was pulled out, and the man was arrested.
