Erdogan replaces Minister of Finance

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan replaced Minister of Treasury and Finance amid a record drop in the lira.

The relevant decree was published in the official newspaper of the government, Resmi Gazete, on Wednesday night.

Instead of Lütfi Elvan, who had previously written a resignation letter, Erdogan appointed Nureddin Nebati on the post of the Minister of Treasury and Finance, who has been holding the position of deputy minister.
