"An explosion took place at a metallurgical plant in the Gobustan settlement in Baku," Azerbaijani media reported, citing the Karadagly district prosecutor's office.
One person died as a result of the incident. He was carrying metal parts at the time of the explosion.
The man died on the spot.
A criminal case has been launched in the prosecutor's office over the incident. Appropriate investigative measures are being taken to determine the cause of the explosion.
