FDA approves the use of a new antibody-type test

Food and Drug Administration of the USA has issued the permit to use a new type antibody test to detect COVID-19 infections. The new test is blood-based. The test enables to define people with COVID current infection as well as people recovered from the infection.

The American company Quidel, located in San Diego, has developed this test.

According to the test designers, it is possible to define the virus using patients’ nose and mouth saliva smears in just a few minutes.

It is the third type test on antibodies approved by the FDA.
