German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier sent to quarantine

German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier's spokesperson says he is quarantining after one of his security details tested positive for COVID-19. Steinmeier is still awaiting the results of his coronavirus test, Deutsche Welle reports.

The bodyguard is considered a first-degree contact person.

Notably, German Chancellor Angela Merkel spent two weeks in-home quarantine in March after meeting with an infected doctor. Merkel tested negative at the time.
