Greece not to accept strict EU conditions

Greece will not accept strict European Union conditions on the use of the coronavirus emergency aid, Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, Reuters writes.

“Greeks have matured a lot. And we want to do our own reforms,”- said the Prime Minister.

According to him, a six-monthly review of economic performance carried out by the European Commission was sufficient and that there was no need for any “additional strict conditionality.”

The Prime Minister said that Greece had a very “aggressive reform agenda,” envisaging 3.5-billion-euro support for businesses.

Reportedly, Greece will face an 8-10% economic decrease in 2021.
