Heavy rain in South Korea kills 31 people

At least 31 people died during bad weather in South Korea, 11 are still missing. The rain that has not stopped for a month caused floods and landslides.

The disaster hit Gwangju's city the hardest, with 13 people dead in the past two days. Seven thousand people had to leave their homes in 11 cities in the region.

At least 14,000 residential and public buildings got damaged, as well as 4.3 thousand bridges and highways. About 25 thousand hectares of agricultural land was flooded. Rail traffic got halted in several places.
