Iran denies liquidation of Al Qaeda leader in its territory

The Iranian Foreign Ministry denies the presence of members of the Al-Qaeda terrorist group in the country, an official representative of the Iranian Foreign Ministry said after The New York Times published an article reporting the murder of one of the leaders of the terrorist group in Tehran.

The Iranian spokesman noted that the al-Qaeda grouping arose because of the erroneous US policy in the region.

As The New York Times reported earlier, Israeli special services killed one of the leaders of the Al-Qaeda terrorist group Abdullah Ahmed Abdullah in Iran three months ago.
