Israeli opposition agrees to form new government

Israeli opposition parties have reached an agreement to form a new government. Opposition Central Party leader Yair Lapid announced the agreement to President Reuven Rivlin 35 minutes before the deadline.

According to the agreement reached by the opposition, the Prime Minister of Israel will become the leader of the right-wing party "Yamina" Naftali Bennett, and then, in 2 years, he will be replaced by Yair Lapid.

The new government must be approved by the Knesset.
