Karabakh ceasefire agreement takes effect

The ceasefire agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia in the Karabakh region took effect at 12:00 PM today.

Yesterday, Russian, Azerbaijani, and Armenian foreign ministers held a trilateral meeting in Moscow.

Armenia and Azerbaijan agreed on the ceasefire for humanitarian purposes.

As part of the agreement, the parties have ceased the fire to exchange those in captivity, other arrested ones, and the deceased's bodies.

The measures will follow the International Red Cross committee criteria and its mediation.

Azerbaijan and Armenia will launch introductory talks by the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs.
