Malawi sex workers hold protest amid economic crisis

In Lilongwe, capital of Malawi, sex workers held a protest demanding to ease restrictions imposed in the country to prevent coronavirus spread, Malawi Nyasa Times reports.

The Malawi Sex Workers' Association (FSWA) said their income had dropped by 30% during the pandemic.

According to the association's spokesperson, women are asking the government to ease restrictions, in particular, to open bars and other entertainment venues.
