Massive protest in Tel-Aviv

Over 10,000 people protest irrelevant reactions of the government to the coronavirus epidemic.

The majority of protesters were self-employed or business sector representatives who demanded financial support from the government.

Unemployment increased by 21 percent after the strict lockdown introduced in March. Following the increase in the number of infection cases, the Prime Minister returned the lockdown restrictions, hence paralyzing businesses.

The protest was followed by confrontation. Protesters blocked the streets and attacked law enforcers. Police arrested twenty protesters.

Official data read the country counts 37,4 thousand cases of COVID-19 infection and the death toll of 354.
