Russian media reports based on the Health Ministry information, Russia has completed trials with the COVID-19 vaccine and is about to launch its production.
Reportedly, the vaccine is developed by specialists of the National Center of Epidemiology and Microbiology, Gamalei.
Vladimir Putin claims Russia to be the first country to register the COVID-19 vaccine.
They named the vaccine Sputnik V.
The media reports two stages of the immunization process: first stage – I component, and the second stage – II component to be injected in three weeks.
As the Health Ministry informs, the two-stage immunization scheme will ensure long-term immunity (two-years) to the virus.
