More than 240 dinosaur footprints found in eastern China

Chinese paleontologists have found more than 240 dinosaur footprints in eastern China's Fujian Province in an area of about 1 600 square meters.

At least eight species of dinosaurs are from the Late Cretaceous period. They lived 80 million years ago and belonged to a species of bird-like small predatory dinosaurs.

Archaeological excavations were carried out by scientists from the China Geological Survey and staff of one of the Beijing Museum of Natural History.
