NATO gets ready for the second wave of coronavirus outbreak

NATO is preparing for the second wave of the infection outburst, writes Spiegel based on a reliable source.

According to the report, NATO Councils have decided to develop an operation plan during their meeting with the General Secretary, Yen Stoltenberg, and to submit it to the NATO Defense Ministry for confirmation in June.

During the secret meeting, Stoltenberg has stated that the coronavirus second wave will serve a “quick test” on reliability and unity.

According to the Agency, the General Secretary offered NATO to accomplish the general purchase of personal protection appliances and medicaments.

NATO Ambassadors also agreed to develop a long-term response plan on the pandemic.

These initiatives caused frustration among the members of the alliance since NATO was not fully ready for the pandemic.
