NATO Summit officially opens in Brussels

The North Atlantic Alliance summit officially opened in Brussels today. Heads of state and government leaders met to discuss current and future security challenges.

For the first time this year, the new US President, Joe Biden, will attend the NATO summit.

"We are facing new challenges: Russia, whose actions do not live up to our expectations, and China," he said.

Cooperation with Ukraine and Georgia will also be discussed at this year's summit.

North Atlantic Alliance has important partners in the Black Sea - Georgia and Ukraine - NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg stated during his speech at the Brussels Forum.
