Scientists publish first photo of "Omicron" - PHOTO

The University of Hong Kong has released a photo of a new strain of the coronavirus, "omicron," which is taken under an electron microscope.

Scientists from the Faculty of Medicine, including specialists in the field of pathology and virology, were able to take electron microphotography of a monkey kidney cell (Vero E6), which was infected with the "omicron" variant of SARS-CoV-2.

On December 1, scientists at the University of Hong Kong, the first in Asia, isolated a new coronavirus "Omicron" strain from clinical samples.
