Second Turkish soldier was killed in an attack by Kurdish public defenses on Turkish troops in Syria. In the Ras al-Ayn region, the Kurds launched a rocket attack. One soldier was killed and 5 wounded were taken to the hospital.
Turkey launched a military operation against the Kurds in northern Syria on October 9. Following talks between Mike Pence, the US Vice President and the Turkish President on October 17 in Ankara, Turkish authorities announced suspension of the operation.
