WHO approves Indian vaccine Covaxin

The World Health Organization has approved Covaxin, an anti-coronavirus vaccine from the Indian biotechnology company Bharat Biotech, for emergency use, CNN reports.

The manufacturer claims that their coronavirus vaccine is 78% effective.

The Strategic Advisory Group recommended vaccination for individuals over 18, with two doses at 4-week intervals.

Covaxin is the seventh vaccine against coronavirus approved by the World Health Organization for emergency use. The vaccines of the following companies have been approved by WHO to date: Pfizer / BioNTech, Moderna, AstraZeneca, Johnson & Johnson, Sinovac Biotech, and Sinopharm.
