“COVID-19 cases are increasing in most regions. These are worrying trends as we continue to see the impact of variants, opening up of societies, and inequitable vaccine rollout,’’ he said at a briefing held in Geneva on March 19.
In his words, the world is in the fourth week of rising infections after a six-week drop.
He added the mortality rate gradually decreases.
