WHO names necessary amount for universal access to coronavirus vaccine

The World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, named the amount needed to ensure universal access to the coronavirus vaccine.

"More than $ 100 billion will be needed for vaccines alone," Ghebreyesus said.

According to him, 10 % of that amount got raised in April as a result of measures taken to raise funds.

Earlier, Michael Ryan, the Executive Director of the WHO Health Emergencies Program, said that the coronavirus vaccine's mass use would not begin until the first half of 2021.
