Yerevan protesters demand PM Pashinyan resign

A rally is underway in Yerevan demanding the resignation of Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.

Protesters gathered at Freedom Square in Yerevan, the capital city of Armenia.

Earlier, former director of Armenia's National Security Service, leader of the opposition Homeland party, Artur Vanetsyan, said 17 opposition parties proposed ex-PM Vazgen Manukyan to occupy the post of the government leader.

Manukyan pledged that he would hold snap parliamentary elections if being elected as the prime minister, in which he would not participate.
