11 other members of the organized crime network have reportedly been detained over illegal production and distribution of child pornography and human trafficking. Parents and teachers of minors are among the detainees, with them being under threat of receiving a jail term of 17-20 years.
Deputy Interior Minister Vladimir Bortsvadze said that the defendants have involved their underage children in pornography production. In exchange for certain amount of money, parents reportedly took their children to a photo salon owned by an American citizen, in which their pornographic photos were taken, with the photos planned to be distributed abroad.
11 members were apprehended over illegal production and distribution of child pornography and human trafficking in September too, with an American, an Australian and 9 Georgian citizens serving their prison sentences now.
