Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia and Kvemo Kartli District Prosecutor's Office, as a result of joint investigative actions, arrested one person for misappropriating a large amount of money belonging to one of the enterprises registered in the Kvemo Kartli region using his official position.
While providing accounting and auditing services to the enterprise, the investigation established that the accused systematically transferred money from the enterprise account to his bank accounts and related persons. As a result, in the period 2014-2020, more than GEL 3,000,000 belonging to the enterprise were misappropriated.
The investigation is underway under Article 182, Part 2, Subparagraphs d and Part 3, Subparagraph b of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for up to 11 years.
Relevant investigative actions are underway to identify other persons with possible criminal connections with the accused.
