Another individual, known only as V.B., has been detained over the Dampalo cemetery murder in Varketili, according to the Prosecutor's Office of Georgia.
"Following the investigative activities, it was determined that on January 2, 2020, at night, two individuals, known as M.Ch. and M.Ts., were in Tbilisi, more specifically, in Varketili, at Dampalo cemetery, with two other individuals, known only as Z.P. and V. B., also being there. A verbal altercation occurred following the illegal attempt by M.Ch and M.Ts.to get hold of Z.P.'s car.
Along with V.B, the man accompanying him, known as Z.P., tried to stop the individuals mentioned above. The conflict continued for a few minutes during which accused Z.P., along with V. B., inflicted fatal bodily injuries upon M.Ts., with this resulting in his subsequent death. Another individual, M.Ch., suffered physical pain following the group beating," the statement by the Prosecutor's Office reads.
A special forces team member has also been detained over the Dampalo cemetery murder and has already been sentenced to pretrial detention. He has confessed to the crime.
