According to the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, within the framework of customs supervision, the import of unaccounted fuel is strictly controlled during the movement of freight transporters carrying out international cargo transportation.
The customs officers stopped the attempt to import more than 5 000 liters of undeclared diesel fuel at the Red Cross customs checkpoint in the last ten days.
The import of unregistered products, mainly by truck drivers, is done through artificially arranged fuel tanks. According to Article 168 of the Customs Code of Georgia, the offense carries a fine as a sanction.
