Ministry of Internal Affairs along with the Prosecutor's Office detained five members of a criminal group in Tbilisi on charges of a group robbery, unlawful purchase and maintenance of a firearm. The crime envisages from 8 to 12 years of imprisonment.
Investigation revealed that the group attacked and robbed the residents of Okrokana on August 28, this year. They robbed family members of their belongings, money, expensive gold jewelry, registered firearms, a car and hid.
Members of the criminal group were also planning a robbery in Avchala which was prevented by the police.
Investigation is in progress on the fact of robbery, crime preparation and illegal purchase, possession and carrying of firearms by the group.
