Two cases of attempted import of undeclared gold were prevented at the customs checkpoint "Sarpi" of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance. Report.ge was informed by the Revenue Service.

According to the agency, the total value of gold items totaled GEL 21,401.97.

"As a result of the inspection of the luggage belonging to the citizens of Georgia and Greece N.B. and L.A. by the customs officers, undeclared gold jewelry (total weight 202.34 grams) was revealed.

A citizen of Georgia was fined GEL 3202.97, and the case materials of a Greek citizen were handed over to the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.

Another case of gold smuggling across the border was prevented. As a result of inspecting the luggage belonging to an Armenian citizen, G.P., undeclared gold bars worth GEL 17686.5 (total weight 100 grams) were found," the information reveals.
