According to the Revenue Service, customs officers prevented the facts of the attempt to bring undeclared money.
According to the exchange rate of the National Bank, the total undeclared amount was GEL 857,550.09.
"From October 30 to December 8, at the customs checkpoints "Tbilisi Airport," "Red Bridge" and "Kutaisi Airport," customs officers of the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance, found citizens of Kuwait, Belarus, Islamic State of Iran, Georgia and Kazakhstan, both citizens suspicious. As a result, the undeclared amount totaled 328 843 USD, 475 Belarusian rubles, 22 500 Kazakhstani tenge, and 3 000 000 Russian rubles were found.
The total amount, according to the exchange rate of the National Bank, amounted to GEL 857,550.09. Following Article 169, Part 3 of the Customs Code of Georgia, the violating citizens were fined GEL 115,755,006 in the form of a sanction," the statement reads.
