Giorgi Chincharauli, a member of the Dedoplistskaro City Council, got detained by the law enforcers for injuring citizens in Kakheti.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the detainee confessed to the crime.
"Employees of the Kakheti Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, as a result of operative-investigative measures, detained accused of intentionally inflicting grievous bodily harm, G.Ch., born in 1982. The investigation established that the accused as a result of conflict injured G.Ch., born in 1997 and M.Ch., born in 1994 with a cold weapon. The injured are at the hospital. Law enforcers arrested the accused shortly after the incident. The weapon of the crime has been removed as evidence. The detainee confessed to the crime," the agency said.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs revealed that the severe intentional damage to health is being investigated under Article 117, Part 7, Subparagraph A of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
The offense carries a maximum sentence of 7 to 13 years in prison.
