An employee of the Municipal Inspection of Tbilisi City Hall got arrested for taking a bribe. The State Security Service spreads information about the incident.
"Officers of the Anti-Corruption Agency of the State Security Service, in cooperation with the relevant service of the Tbilisi Municipality, detained an employee of the Municipal Inspection of the Tbilisi City Hall on the fact of taking a bribe as a result of operative-investigative actions.
The investigation revealed that the head of the Didube district open space trade shift of the Tbilisi City Hall Municipal Inspectorate demanded a monthly bribe of GEL 1,000 to protect the open space trade in his area of operation, and therefore received the amount on July 29 this year.
The investigation is underway on the fact of taking bribes (9 crimes under the first part of Article 338 of the Criminal Code of Georgia), which envisages imprisonment for a term of 6 to 9 years," reads the statement.
According to the agency, the investigation is being conducted by the anti-corruption agency of the State Security Service.
