"The officers of Tbilisi Main Division of the Patrol Police Department as a result of operative-investigative actions detained I.J., born in 2004, on charges of illegal purchase and storage of a large amount of drugs," the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
According to the agency, the offense carries a maximum sentence of 5 to 8 years in prison.
"Patrol police crew detained a minor in Ponichala settlement when he was transporting 13 packages of drugs. Patrol police officers seized the drug as evidence. The investigation into illegal purchase and storage of large quantity of drugs launched under Under Article 260, Part 3, Subparagraph "a" of the Criminal Code of Georgia," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said in a statement.
