According to the MIA, law enforcement officers have arrested a man (DOB 1981) accused of raping a woman in Abasha municipality.
"Investigators determined that the defendant subjected a woman (DOB 1956) to sexual abuse.
Law enforcement officers detained the rapist a few hours after the crime was committed. Forensic examination and the corresponding investigative activities are being carried out," the statement by the state agency reads.
The investigation of the case has already been launched; the perpetrator faces a prison sentence of up to eight years.
