As a result of the investigative and search operations carried out by the Tbilisi Police Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, G.L., born in 1985, was arrested on charges of premeditated murder and illegal purchase-storage-carrying of firearms. The offense carries a maximum sentence of 7 to 15 years in prison.
"The investigation established that on November 23 of the current year, in the evening hours, under the influence of alcohol, D.M., born in 1988, and the accused G.L. were with their friends in Tbilisi, on the street near their apartment.
D.M. and G.L. had a conflict and verbally abused each other, during which G.L. shot from a firearm and wounded D.M. in the chest.
The wounded man died shortly after being taken to the hospital, while G.L. hid from the scene.
As a result of operative and search operations carried out by the police, G.L. was arrested in Sagarejo.
Law enforcers seized firearm as evidence," the statement said.
