As a result of operative and investigative measures carried out by the Kakheti Police Department, J.A., born in 1972, was arrested and charged with premeditated murder in aggravating circumstances in the village Kisiskhevi, Telavi Municipality, the Ministry of Internal Affairs reports.
According to the agency, the offense carries a maximum sentence of 16 to 20 years or life imprisonment.
"The investigation revealed that J.A. inflicted multiple wounds on his acquaintance - Kh.E., born in 1984, and the woman accompanying him D.F., born in 1992. The wounded man was taken to a medical facility. The injured woman died at the scene as a result of the received wounds.
Law enforcement officers arrested the accused shortly after the incident on a hot trail. Police seized the weapon of the crime - a knife as evidence.
The detainee confessed to the crime. The investigation is underway under Article 108 of the Criminal Code of Georgia and Article 19-109, Part 3, Subparagraph "a" of the Criminal Code of Georgia," the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.
