The Ministry of Internal Affairs has launched an investigation into the fact of an unknown substance in the Parliament Hall.

The investigation was launched under article 117 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which involves serious intentional damage to health.

What kind of substance was spilled in the Parliament will be determined by expert-criminalists who are currently working in the Parliament.

Irakli Kobakhidze, the former Chairman of the Parliament, stated that two opposition deputies brought unknown substance into the session hall. Archil Talakvadze, due to security measures, called on lawmakers to leave the room.

Due to the specific smell of the unidentified fluid, several deputies were feeling ill. Endzela Machavariani stated that she is allergic to any severe smell. According to Mamuka Mdinaradze, the majoritarian deputy Machavariani recently underwent surgery, and the opposition is responsible if her health condition worsens.

Endzela Machavariani was taken to the hospital by the ambulance.

Shame Movement claimed responsibility.
