The Ministry of Internal Affairs released information about the special operation carried out in Gurjaani late last night. It turns out that police arrested one person. During the search of the detainee's car, law enforcers seized weapons, ammunition, and an explosive device.
"Law enforcement officers detained Z.M. in the village of Chumlaki, Gurjaani Municipality while driving on the Telavi-Gurjaani road.
The investigation is in progress under Article 236, Parts 3 and 4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which means illegal purchase, storage and carrying of firearms, ammunition and explosive devices," reads the statement issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The crime is punishable by imprisonment for a term of 4 to 7 years.
