The Investigative Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia has detained one person on the fact of making and selling forged official documents.

According to the investigation, "the accused, on behalf of one of the medical institutions in the Imereti region, prepared and handed over the documents reflecting the negative results of the PCR test to two people interested in the outcome without laboratory research in exchange for GEL 200."

The Investigative Service seized a large quantity of pre-signed and stamped blank sheets of paper.

The investigation is in progress under the first part of Article 362 and the 4th part of Article 221 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for 4 to 6 years.

"Relevant measures are being taken to identify other possible participants of the crime," the Investigation Service notes.
