Employees of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance detained one citizen of Georgia for violating the rules related to the movement of a large number of goods at the customs border of Georgia.
As report.ge was informed by the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance, the investigation established that the accused was passing through the customs checkpoint "Sarpi" and smuggled a particularly large amount of undeclared Turkish-made medicines into a truck secretly from customs control.
"The customs value of Turkish-made medicines seized as a result of investigative actions exceeds GEL 25,000.
The investigation is underway under the second part of Article 214 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, which envisages imprisonment for a term of 5 to 7 years.
