Police detained one person at Tbilisi International Airport. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, police charged A.C. born in 1990, convicted in the past, with illicit purchase, storage, and illegal import of particularly large amounts of drugs to Georgia.
According to them, during the personal search of the detainee, police seized 508 pills of drug Subutex and three capsules of methadone.
According to the investigation, the accused illegally imported the drugs from Turkey to Georgia. A.C. pleads guilty.
Investigation launched under Article 260, part 1 of the Criminal Code of Georgia, Article 260, part 6, subsection (a) and Article 262, part 4, subsection (a), which deals with the illegal purchase and keeping of large quantities of drugs and their illicit import into Georgia.
The crime envisages from 6 to 20 years in prison or life imprisonment.
