As Georgia’s Interior Ministry reports, police officers arrested one with charges for wounding the Rustavi City Council member.
“Employees of Rustavi City Department arrested a person, identified only as N.T., who faced judgment earlier, for deliberately injuring another person,’’ reports say.
The detainee faces three to six years in jail.
The incident occurred for a quarrel. The detainee stabbed Giorgi Mgebrishvili in his leg and fled the scene.
The wounded was hospitalized. An investigation is in progress.
