A police officer has reportedly been wounded in the vicinity of Batumi Plaza Mall. Witnesses say that the officer has been stabbed in the neck. As per them, the incident took place when the patrol police stopped a vehicle. The officer was first involved in a verbal altercation with the driver and later wounded by him. Shortly after the incident, he was hospitalized. Chavchavadze Avenue is blocked at this point.
The investigation into the incident is underway. The offender has reportedly been apprehended by the victim's police partner.
