As a result of operative-investigative actions, the officers of the Ministry of Internal Affairs seized illegal firearms and ammunition in Adjara and Guria at different times.

Adjara Police arrested two people - V.I., born in 1985, and S.I., born in 1989. During the inspection of the accused at the Sarpi customs checkpoint, the law enforcers seized: 3 firearms, three muzzleloaders, and one cartridge.

Employees of Ozurgeti District Division of Guria Police Department detained Z.Kh., born in 1988, a former convict and currently on probation due to operative-investigative actions. He was arrested in Ozurgeti. He is accused of illegal purchase and storage of firearms and ammunition.

During the search of the detainee's house, the law enforcement officers seized BLOW MINI MOD 2003 pistol, muzzleloader, and eight ammunition cartridges as evidence.

The offenses carry a sentence of 3 to 8 years in prison.

The investigation is underway on the facts of illegal purchase-storage-carrying of firearms and ammunition and smuggling at the customs border of Georgia under Article 236, Parts 3 and 4, as well as Article 214, Part 4 of the Criminal Code of Georgia.
