Two people have been stabbed at Agmashenebeli Avenue, Tbilisi. The incident occurred in one of the restaurants.
Police officers arrested one over the incident.
''The police officers of Tbilisi Police Department of Georgia's Interior Ministry arrested a person, identified only as R.M, born in 1991, for attempted premeditated murder in aggravated circumstances,'' the ministry reports.
''The investigation showed that the detainee stabbed two people at one of the restaurants at Agmashenebeli Avenue, Tbilisi. The emergency brigade hospitalized the injured men to provide them with medical aid. They are safe,'' the Interior Ministry stated.
As reported by the ministry, law enforcers arrested the suspect shortly in the vicinity of the scene.
Police seized the knife when searching the detainee.
''The investigation is in progress,'' reads the statement by the Interior Ministry.
The detainee faces from 16 to 20 years in jail or a life sentence.
