Nika Gvaramia, the Director-General of the Rustavi 2 TV Company has posted on social media that his team has detailed information on the Zugdidi crime and will disclose these details later.
"We know absolutely everything. We have cooperated with police officials all day long. They learned everything from us, and if not for us, they would have known nothing at all.
We will take the police's request into account and hold back from revealing all details. However, we will publicize everything tomorrow, and hopefully, the government will apologize to us."
A gunman broke into the Bank of Georgia in Zugdidi and took 19 hostages earlier today. He demanded half a million dollars, a helicopter, and threatened to kill victims unless his demands were met.
Chief of regional police department Avto Galdava gave himself up to the captor to have him release hostages, who were later taken to the police department for questioning.
At around 10 p.m., the captor left the bank building, together with three victims. On leaving the bank, he was armed with a hand grenade.
No information on the armed assailants and the hostages' whereabouts have yet been released.
The MIA has not also publicized any official information.
