The public holiday "Vazhaoba," dedicated to the 160th anniversary of Vazha-Pshavela, was held in his native village Chargali. The information is disseminated by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth of Georgia.

Within the framework of the event, a traditional ceremony of breaking the kadi was held in the yard of the Vazha-Pshavela House-Museum, and a presentation of the bilingual collection "On the Footsteps of Vazha-Pshavela" published by Eter Tataraidze and Amiran Arabuli took place. The authors themselves and also the General Director of the National Library, Giorgi Kekelidze, spoke about the book. Within the framework of the anniversary evening, with the support of the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Youth of Georgia, the Rustavi Theater presented the play "Host and Guest" (directed by Soso Nemsadze).

The public holiday "Vazhaoba" has been celebrated in Chargali since 1961.
