“Gandagana” dance and its folk origin will be awarded the status of Intangible Cultural Heritage.The information is spread by Intangible Cultural Heritage Agency of Adjara.
“Gandagana” is one of the Adjarian folk dances.It is of amorous character and represents the synthesis of women’s “Tarnanino”, men’s “Mkharuli” and “Sashairo-Jakhtanana” dances.“Gandagana” was first danced on the stage in 1946.The dance may be performed by pair or by a group of dancers.
